The Via Coloniensis starts in Cologne or Bonn and leads through the Eifel and Trier to Schengen. It is part of the network of routes of the Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James). As multiple routes through Germany join throughout this way, it is connecting most of the german pilgrim routes with the french routes. Once in France one could travel continue to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to join the French Way, the Camino Frances. One of the most popular routes of the ancient pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
