Torres del Río

I walked to Los Arcos today, but kept the option open to continue on to Torres del Río, as hinter said the 28km from Los Arcos to Logroño we’re going to be tough. Also it is supposed to get really hot tomorrow, so I would prefer to cut a couple of km of the total.

On the way we passed the wine Fountain! We’re you could just get wine from the fountain.

And it wasn’t even that bad. A young dry but fruits red wine. Incredible.

As I walked out of town, this woman from the Netherlands came up and told me they were going to take a taxi to Torres del Río. And wether I wanted to join.

At first I felt a bit like this was cheating, but then I thought, that it would really suck if I die and my last thought was “I should have taken the Taxi”.

We get to an Albergue where for a few Euros more you could use the pool! So I guess I made all the right decisions.

After the bath, the friend of the Dutch Lady and I began to talk. She is from Belgium, and has walked the Camino before. We started talking and first she gave me some advise, then we began to talk about the Camino and how it for her resembles live. The stages of the Camino correlating to the 7 stages of men.

We’ll she said stages of live, but thanks Mr McCauley, I was just thinking of Shakespeare. But we both were basically talking about the helpless infant, the whining schoolboy, the emotional lover, the devoted soldier, the wise judge, the old man still in control of his faculties, and the extremely aged, returned to a second state of helplessness. 😉

Now, it quickly turned into a comparison to my life, and she looking in from the outside. I still don’t know if she is a professional psychologist, but she went real deep into my psyche, I ended up sitting crying in front of a stranger. In awe, with loads of questions and thoughts to be answered, but feeling light as a feather, thinking we’re was that woman all my life – this little conversation has given me more to think, dwell on, and possibly emotionally grow then anyone else!

Thank you camino!
